Boat season is over. Rude. Before you send her off for a long winter nap, clean up the evidence of a summer well spent.
1. Get Your Sh*t Off the Boat
Towels, sunscreen, snacks, dog toys, 37 koozies, mystery sweatshirts, and the single unclaimed flip-flop that's been under the seat since June.
2. Wipe Down the Evidence
Sunscreen. Spilled cocktails. Wet swimsuits. Sticky fingerprints. Whatever the hell happened in the back seat.
Hit the seats with a marine-safe vinyl cleaner, especially the seams and creases.
3. Rip Out the Carpet
Okay, remove it. But you get the idea.
Pull removable carpet, mesh, and mats and give them a serious cleaning. If the material allows, power wash that summer right out of them.
Then let everything dry completely.
Mildew is an a**hole.
4. DampRid the Heck Out of It
Once the boat is clean and dry, add DampRid or another moisture absorber in appropriate areas. Follow the directions and put it somewhere it can't tip over.
Because your boat should smell like summer in May. Not a wet basement.
5. Clean the Rest of the Damn Boat
Vacuum the crumbs, sand, and dog hair. Wipe down compartments and cup holders. Empty the fridge and coolers. Wash the exterior.
6. Bring the Good Stuff Home
Electronics, valuables, anything that can freeze and for the love of boating, your decorative pillows you bought from us!
And If your pillows spent all summer trying to get themselves into the lake every time the wind blew...we might have something for that. 😉
7. Winterize the Expensive Stuff
Engine. Fuel. Batteries. Plumbing. All the things that can turn into a very expensive spring surprise. Follow your manufacturer's recommendations or let your marina handle it.
That's it. She's clean, she's dry, and she's officially off duty.
